New GOP ad: 'Stop the games, Harry Reid

"The White House may be rooting for the shutdown, telling reporters that they are "winning" as Americans suffer, but while President Obama and Harry Reid play political games, the House has acted," the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) points out in a new ad.

Included in the video's rhetoric is Harry Reid's money quote -- "Why would we do that?" -- about voting on a separate measure to fund cancer research for children. In my opinion, Reid should be counting his blessings. Give the degree of absurdity, I think the GOP actually let him off pretty easy. I was half-expecting them to go with full Obama-grade rhetoric and accuse him of hating children or being in the pocket of Big Cancer, or something.
