The Reason a 'Bullying Report' Was Filed Against Top-Ranked High School Football Team Will Likely Spark a Heated Debate

Aledo High School (Texas) is investigating a "bullying report" filed by a parent of an opposing team after the school's football team won a game 91-0.

Aledo High School's head coach, Tim Buchanan, told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that he is required to "address" the complaint.

"It's not something you can laugh off or anything like that. What they said was that I should've told my players to ease up and not play so hard," he said.

The school principal will now investigate and prepare a written report on the case of alleged bullying.

"Aledo is the top-ranked Class 4A program in the state and is 7-0, including 4-0 in District 7-4A. In its four district games, Aledo has scored 84, 77, 84 and 91 points," Fox Sports Southwest notes.

It's unclear what else Buchanan could have done to slow down his team. He reportedly pulled his starters after just 21 snaps and the team only threw the ball 10 times. Further, a running clock was implemented in the third quarter of the lopsided game.

The losing team, Western Hills, is winless on the season and has allowed at least 60 points in four of its seven games. Western Hills coach John Naylor said he didn't see anything wrong with the way Aledo handled the game.

“I think the game was handled fine,” Naylor told the Star-Telegram. “They’re No. 1 for a reason, and I know coach Buchanan. We’re fighting a real uphill battle right now.”
