The Funny Yet Depressing Way One GOP Rep. Highlighted the Continued Obamacare Enrollee Struggles

"This is not a ‘glitch,’ it’s a national embarrassment."

How long did it take Congressman Steve Scalise to try to enroll in Obamacare?

Long enough to order and eat lunch.

"Why don't we take a look at how this website works and try to log in ourselves," Scalise (R-La.) says in a video his office posted to YouTube Friday.

Scalise said what followed was a two-hour attempt to sign up on healthcare.gov that was marred by technical troubles and ultimately ended in failure.

During his try, Scalise even had enough time to order and then eat a pizza.

“I’ve heard numerous stories from constituents about the failed attempts to sign up for Obamacare, so I tried to sign up myself,” Scalise said in a statement. “After spending two hours trying to navigate through the error-ridden Obamacare website, I was kicked out of the system four times, got numerous blank screens, and never once was able to compare prices for health coverage."

“This failed website is a symptom of the larger failure of President Obama's government takeover of our health care system. This is not a ‘glitch,’ it’s a national embarrassment," he said.
