Chris Christie texts Mika Brzezinski his approval numbers (and other bits from Joe Scarborough's trip to Washington)

As noted on the front page, MSNBC "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough's mom doesn't like it when he hates on Glenn Beck. He said so Wednesday at an event to promote his new book in Washington, D.C.

What else happened?

"Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski, who wore sunglasses on her head the entire time despite it being 6 p.m. and dark outside since 5 p.m., is text buddies with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R): "He likes to text me his approval ratings. Like all the time. Every time they come out. And they're all good. Especially among women and he likes to share that."

Scarborough diagnosed the Obama administration's problem: "They really hate Washington. ... I really do think the biggest challenge in the Obama administration ... and George Bush had this problem, too ... they just didn't love the job. They didn't love the town."

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) got the Scarborough endorsement: "He is the single most effective, tough, efficient leader I ever met in my political life. ... As a leader, I'm blown away by him. ... I don't know that he's going to run [in 2016]."

On the political polarization of the news media: "I think it's like political pornography. I think we're becoming desensitized to it. You know what, back in 2009, I was really upset when every Obama supporter called me a member of the KKK. Now I see KKK, I go, 'I'm fine.' I was really upset when every Tea Party member said that I was a left-wing marxist traitor pig that should be shot in the head. Now I look at it and say, 'Man, I need to go and eat some Wheaties.'"
