Fun times: Obama summons health insurance execs to White House

This just in: crazed bus driver wants to have a chat with hit & run victim.

Several insurance company CEOs have been called to a meeting with President Barack Obama at the White House Friday afternoon, POLITICO has learned.

The meeting comes one day after the White House announced a plan to allow insurers to continue selling into 2014 plans that don’t meet the Obamacare insurance requirement. President Barack Obama took that step to quell an outcry after millions of Americans’ health insurance plans were canceled despite Obama’s oft-repeated promise that they can keep them.

As we reported yesterday, reps from the insurance industry warned that the president's so-called "fix" threatens to "destabilize the market and result in higher premiums for consumers."  And instead of owning up to the shortcomings of his own policies, President Obama hasn't hesitated to lay the blame on insurance companies.  But yeah... I'm sure this meeting won't be awkward at all.
