Mystery Woman Takes 'World's Worst Selfie', Ends Up on Front Page of the NY Post
December 04, 2013
"SELFIE-ISH"
One woman took the "world's worst selfie" and ended up on the front page of the New York Post on Wednesday.
Giving the "funeral selfie" a run for its money in terms of tastelessness, the Post reportedly caught a woman taking a photo of herself while a suicidal man teetered on the edge of the Brooklyn Bridge behind her.
The man was eventually rescued by police officers.
But the "SELFIE-ISH" act landed the mystery woman on the front page of the New York Post and on a number of news websites. She declined to provide her name, likely for obvious reasons.
"With scores of onlookers watching the dramatic 10 a.m. rescue by cops, the crass camerawoman turned her back to the scene, angled her phone toward the bridge and snapped a shot," the Post reports. "When approached by The Post afterward, she suddenly became camera-shy."
When asked for her name, she reportedly said, "I'd rather not."
"Selfie" was named Word of the Year by Oxford Dictionary.
