A Michigan woman was surprised to learn over the weekend that a snake had been secretly living inside her couch for an astounding two months.
According to the Detroit Free Press, Holly Wright and her boyfriend picked up the couch two months ago and moved it inside their bedroom.
“We smelled it and everything — it looked OK,” she said. “We peeled off the cushions, cleaned it up, never saw anything.”
But, over the weekend the 4-foot snake revealed itself to Wright. She and her boyfriend videotaped the bizarre discovery.

“It’s been living in the couch for like two months in my bedroom and I had no idea, and it looks pretty big,” she said.
The snake was not aggressive and died before it could be taken to an animal hospital. Wright told the Detroit Free Press she thinks it emerged from the couch because it had no food and became hungry.
“It didn’t really react or hiss, but when we poked it with a coat hanger it coiled up a little bit, so at that point we flipped the couch over,” she said.
“Funny, my room almost feels a little empty now,” Wright added. “It’s been really sad actually to realize all this time I was in proximity to that animal (that) was probably suffering.”
