The introduction of "solid" food to a baby after a diet of only breast milk or formula is a momentous occasion, and parents never know how it's going to be received.
One couple selected pureed sweet potatoes for their 6 month old's first bite. Mommy even had to demonstrate to baby how one is supposed to open their mouth for the spoon to be entered. Still not quite getting it, she gently pushed the spoon into his mouth and deposited some of the mush, carefully managing to avoid his grabbing hand that seemed interested in touching the substance.

Just watch how he reacted when his taste buds experienced something new:
Success!
