A Dashcam Just Happened to Catch the Moment a Small Plane Made an Emergency Landing on a Busy California Street
September 23, 2015
"Are you kidding me?"
A car was pulling up to a red light last week and with its dashcam rolling captured the moment something highly unusual zoomed through the intersection.
A small plane made use of Red Hill Avenue in Irvine, California, as a runway last Wednesday in an emergency landing.
"Are you kidding me?" the driver exclaimed.
Driving onward after the light changed, the driver also captured where the plane stopped in the middle of the road.
See the dashcam footage:
The Orange County Register reported that the plane, a Piper Cherokee, landed on the road not far from John Wayne Airport during rush-hour traffic, but there were no injuries or damage reported.

The newspaper reported that the reason for the emergency landing was unknown at the time, but the Federal Aviation Administration would be investigating.
