Leaked Audio Reportedly Captures Hillary Clinton's Candid Comments on Second Amendment, Plans to Go After NRA

"The idea that you can have an open carry permit..."

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton claimed the Supreme Court got it “wrong on the Second Amendment” and vowed to aggressively go after the National Rifle Association during remarks reportedly made at a recent private fundraiser in New York.

Clinton’s candid anti-gun comments emerged Thursday after the Washington Free Beacon obtained and published "leaked audio" from the fundraiser.

On the NRA, Clinton told supporters she would “speak out” and “do everything I can to rally people against this pernicious, corrupting influence” of the gun rights group.

She also said it’s “just despicable” that Americans are able to open carry semi-automatic rifles.

“The idea that you can have an open carry permit with an AK-47 over your shoulder walking up and down the aisles of a supermarket is just despicable,” she said.

The Free Beacon has more on Clinton’s disagreement with the Supreme Court on the Second Amendment:

Although Clinton did not identify which Supreme Court case she disagreed with, she appeared to be criticizing the landmark 2008 ruling in District of Columbia v. Heller, which found the handgun ban in Washington, D.C., unconstitutional.

“I was proud when my husband took [the National Rifle Association] on, and we were able to ban assault weapons, but he had to put a sunset on so 10 years later. Of course [President George W.] Bush wouldn’t agree to reinstate them,” said Clinton.

“We’ve got to go after this,” Clinton continued. “And here again, the Supreme Court is wrong on the Second Amendment. And I am going to make that case every chance I get.”

The private fundraiser was reportedly held at the home of convicted felon John Zaccaro in New York City's Greenwich Village.
