New Poll Shows Trump Command Firm Lead in New Hampshire, but Look at Who Has Jumped to Second
February 08, 2016
Donald Trump continued to command a firm lead over his Republican rivals in New Hampshire while Jeb Bush surged to second place, according to a new poll released Monday evening.
The survey, conducted by Emerson College Polling Society from Thursday until late Sunday afternoon, found that 31 percent of likely Republican primary voters supported Trump.
Bush surged to second place with 16 percent of support, trending upward following his debate performance on Saturday.
Marco Rubio, meanwhile, trended in the opposite direction, earning 12 percent of support behind John Kasich's 13 percent. Rubio trended downward, falling from a high of 17 percent on Friday to single digits on Sunday, the day after he stumbled in the ABC News debate.
The poll was conducted with 686 registered voters likely to vote in the primary. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.7 percent.
The New Hampshire primary is Tuesday.
