Trump Tells Mother of Crying Baby at Rally She Can Stay — Then Abruptly Changes His Mind

Planned Parenthood entered the ensuing Twitter controversy.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump told a mother that she didn’t have to take her crying baby out of his rally today, only to change his mind moments later.

“Don’t worry about that baby. I love babies," Trump said when he heard the baby crying at his rally in Ashburn, Virginia, Tuesday. "Don’t worry about it, I love babies. I hear that baby crying, I like it. What a baby, what a beautiful baby. Don’t worry, don’t worry. The mom’s running around like — don’t worry about it, you know. It’s young and beautiful and healthy and that’s what we want.”

Trump briefly returned to his remarks about China, before saying, “Actually, I was only kidding, you can get the baby out of here."

"That’s all right,” Trump said. “Don’t worry. I think she really believed me that I love having a baby crying while I’m speaking. That’s OK. People don’t understand. That’s OK."

Twitter users were quick to mock Trump’s indecision.

Some mocked the media’s reaction to the moment.

The controversy continued when Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, entered the fray by criticizing Trump for kicking the baby out of the rally.
