Conservative 'Cheers' actor sends pointed post-election message to liberal Hollywood

"Cheers" cast member John Ratzenberger is known far and wide for his portrayal of postman barfly Cliff Clavin — but he's also among the small band of Hollywood types who veer decidedly to the political right.

Ratzenberger made that crystal clear during an appearance Thursday on Fox News' "Fox & Friends" when he was asked what he has to say to liberal Hollywood in the wake of Republican Donald Trump's election to the presidency.

“Isn’t it nice that the adults are back in charge?” he replied the hosts. "'OK, kids give us the keys to the car. You've done enough damage. Now we'll take over.'"

Ratzenberger also highlighted his passion for re-emphasizing trades in schools and "mechanical commonsense skills" that seem to be disappearing as the years go by.

“We’re running out of tradesmen like carpenters, electricians, welders," he added. "That’s another reason I support Trump.”
