Trump on Tillerson 'moron' reports: 'I guess we'll have to compare IQ tests

President Donald Trump in a new interview suggested comparing IQ tests with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson after reports emerged that Tillerson called Trump a "moron."

What was the context of the reported 'moron' comment?

According to a report by NBC, Tillerson called the president a "moron," and had considered leaving the Trump administration.

The report added that Vice President Mike Pence had to persuade Tillerson not to resign over the summer.

However, Tillerson told the media last week that he never considered resigning — but didn't entirely deny reports that he called Trump a "moron."

"I’m not going to deal with petty stuff like that," Tillerson said during the news conference.

A spokesperson for Tillerson later condemned the remark, and said that he never used such language.

What did Trump about the 'moron' comment?

A Forbes interview, published on Tuesday, showcased Trump's response to reports that Tillerson called him a "moron."

"I think it's fake news, but if he did that, I guess we'll have to compare IQ tests," Trump told the magazine.

"And I can tell you who is going to win," he added.

Last week, Trump lashed out at NBC, calling them a "disgrace to good reporting."

Trump on Twitter wrote, "NBC news is #FakeNews and more dishonest than even CNN. They are a disgrace to good reporting. No wonder their news ratings are way down!"

"The @NBCNews story has just been totally refuted by  Sec. Tillerson and @VP Pence. It is #FakeNews. They should issue an apology to AMERICA!" he added.
