California man caught on video allegedly sniffing women in Barnes & Noble also stalked NBA player's stepdaughter, former Laker claims

A man was caught on video appearing to sniff at least two women at a California Barnes & Noble book store and was later arrested for an unrelated peeping crime.

A 37-year-old man named Calese Carron Crowder was identified as a man seen in viral TikTok videos where he appeared to follow women in a bookstore. The suspect kneeled behind the women, sometimes pretending to tie his shoes before seemingly sniffing them.

Crowder was later arrested for allegedly peeping on a home with children inside in Glendale, California, according to Fox News.

Law enforcement informed the outlet that the man has felony convictions for robbery and burglary and has been ordered to register as a sex offender, yet is not on the state's list.

Michaela Witter noticed that she was possibly being followed around a Barnes & Noble bookstore by Crowder, so she set up a camera on a bookshelf as she pretended to read.

Crowder can be seen on video crouching down looking at books behind the 28-year-old female multiple times, before leaning in toward her in one instance.

Eventually Witter confronted the man and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Tying my shoe," Crowder responded.

Witter's video also showed the man appearing to do the same with another woman a few aisles over.

As the video circulated online, seven-time NBA champion Robert Horry claimed on his social media that he recognized the man.

"This man stalked my then 14 year old step-daughter over 13 years ago," Horry wrote. "He terrorized my family for months until he was arrested and sentenced to 8 years in prison."

"He is back in the area doing the exact same thing. Please share this story and warn your family, friends, daughters, sisters, mothers," the former Los Angeles Laker wrote.

Horry's wife, Candice, also commented on her Twitter page:

"This is so upsetting. This man stalked my teenage daughter at our home over 10 years ago. He went to jail only to come out and continue the same behavior," she wrote.

Witter told "Inside Edition" that the man is "the most disgusting person and he should rot in jail."

Los Angeles County Jail records state that Crowder has been booked in 41 times.
