Kellyanne Conway: ‘Wrong set of facts’ is being used to criticize Trump

Kellyanne Conway attempted to defend President Donald Trump's decision to fire FBI Director James Comey in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, but it did not go well. On “Pat & Stu,” Stu Burguiere and Jeffy Fisher took a look at the interview.

“Kellyanne Conway did not sound all right last night,” Stu summed it up. “It’s impossible to understand how stupid the arguments from the administration are sometimes.” While in the past, the counselor to the president has done a better job at “defending points that can’t really be defended,” the CNN interview was not a good example, Stu noted.

Cooper asked why Trump has suddenly changed his mind on Comey, whom he had praised during his presidential campaign for investigating opponent Hillary Clinton.

“I think you’re looking at the wrong set of facts here,” Conway objected. “In other words, you’re going back to the campaign. This man is the president of the United States.”

“She honestly is an embarrassment,” Stu said. “What she does when she does these interviews is completely embarrassing not only to her but to the administration. … She just acts as if it’s illegal to ask a question about what he said three months ago.”

People who would like to hold the Trump administration accountable need to keep to one simple rule, Stu asserted: “Just follow this one standard: Anything I said one second before right now doesn’t count.”
