A teenage girl survived a terrifying fall from an amusement park gondola ride after a crowd banded together underneath the precarious spot to catch her safely.
A bystander captured video footage of the incident on Saturday at Six Flags Great Escape amusement park in Queensbury, New York. The 14-year-old girl, who was not identified by police, was in stable condition with no serious injuries despite her 25-foot fall, according to the New York Post.
In the video, the girl can be seen dangling a dangerous distance from the ground; somehow, her neck had gotten stuck in the metal bar intended to keep passengers from sliding out. Park staff stopped the ride, and a crowd of 10 or so park staff members and park visitors gathered underneath the gondola to catch the girl.
The “Pat & Stu” guys watched the crazy clip when Jeffy Fisher shared it during “Jeffy time” on Monday’s episode. Stu Burguiere wondered how on earth the girl ended up in such a precarious spot and talked about how nerve-wracking amusement park rides are for parents.
