Senator turns to God and the Constitution for guidance

Glenn Beck sat down with Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) on "Glenn" and asked if his job has gotten easier or harder on. Lee answered that having a Republican majority in Congress opens up some opportunities in defense of freedom and free markets.

Lee and Glenn recalled a conversation they had when Lee was running for Senate about the welfare of his soul. He knows that he will one day meet his Maker and does not want to lose his principles. He also wants to be consistent for his constituents.

He carries a copy of the Constitution with him every day he spends in Washington, D.C., because it is the only way we limit the "potentially dangerous" power of the government.

Lee says some of the attitudes of some young people about free speech are problematic. The government should not be allowed to decide what ideas are worthy of expression, as history is "riddled with examples of people who have suffered as a result of that kind of thinking."
