Elizabeth Warren: Law enforcement is racist, 'all the way'

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., is emerging as the preferred 2020 presidential candidate for the progressive Left, and over the weekend she previewed what will doubtlessly become a part of her campaign.

Speaking at Dillard University in New Orleans, La., Warren said that all of law enforcement is racist.

“Let’s just start with the hard truth about our criminal justice system,” she railed. “It’s racist. It is. And when I say our system, I mean all the way. I mean front to back. This is not just sentencing reform we’re talking about here. We’re talking about the front end on what you declare to be illegal, on how you enforce it, on who gets arrested.”

Wow. "Front to back." Can you picture the campaign yard signs? "Warren 2020: Cops are racist." "Warren 2020: ICE is racist." "Warren 2020: Courts are racist." "Warren 2020: Trump is racist."

Okay, that last one was a given, but it's obvious what Warren is trying to do here. Her chief competition in the 2020 Democratic primary will be candidates like Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and former Obama administration Attorney General Eric Holder. As much as Warren might like to lie about her heritage and pretend she's a minority, those candidates are the real deal. So she's pandering, in a truly disgusting way.

Warren thinks she can consolidate minority voters in the Democratic primary by calling all the brave men and women in American law enforcement racist. Maybe that will work for the Democrats. But what is the rest of America going to think about Warren, who says cops are racist, compared to President Trump, who ditches his entourage and literally runs to thank law enforcement for their work?

Trump, a staunch supporter of law enforcement, will be more than happy to label Warren as a cop-hater and weak on crime, if given the opportunity to face her.
