What to expect from today's House impeachment votes

The following is an excerpt from Blaze Media’s Capitol Hill Brief email newsletter:

Today, the many months of impeachment drama that have been unfolding in the House of Representatives over the past few months come down to a pair of votes, but before that happens, we’re looking at a pretty full day of debate on the matter.

Following a contentious House Rules Committee meeting that lasted over 10 hours, lawmakers agreed to parameters for today’s impeachment votes. Long story short, we’re looking at six hours of floor debate to be split between Democrats and Republicans, and that’s after the House goes through the process of deliberating and agreeing to the rule on the floor. That will be followed by six total hours of floor debate and separate votes on each article of impeachment. Currently, the majority whip’s office is predicting final votes between 6:30 and 7:30 this evening; however, due to the fact that timing in Congress isn’t anywhere near exact, it’s likely they could take place after that window.
