Appearing on Fox & Friends Wednesday morning, CRTV host Michelle Malkin said Roy Moore’s victory in the Alabama Senate Republican primary runoff was a referendum on the “failure theater” of Mitch McConnell and the D.C. swamp.
“This is not a referendum on Donald Trump. What this was a referendum on was Mitch McConnell and the ‘Swamp King’ politics of what my colleague at Conservative Review calls ‘failure theater,’” Malkin said.
“This was about rejecting business as usual. And the fact is that McConnell directed and misdirected all of these funds that should have gone to races where Republicans could be challenging Democrats,” Malkin said. “So the misplaced priorities here, that’s what this was a referendum on.”
Asked about the ramifications of this race on GOP primaries in other states, Malkin said the message should be sent to incumbents like Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., that it’s time to remember why they were sent to office in the first place.
“It’s not to get perpetually re-elected. It’s to represent a specific agenda that grassroots Republicans especially sent them to do. And that is to limit the size of government, not to expand it endlessly.”
