Obama validates Cruz on Iran, Romney eats crow

Conservative Review

Last week, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) unabashedly declared that Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran funds terrorism. Speaking to a Roundtable on the Iran deal, Cruz said, “If this deal is consummated, it will make the Obama administration the world’s leading financier of radical Islamic terrorism.”

Following Cruz’s remarks, former governor and presidential candidate Mitt Romney took to Twitter and attacked Cruz for daring to point out this fundamental flaw and said his comments about the president, and the deal itself, were “way over the line.”

However, the well-worn tendency of Romney and others in the establishment to jump on the first opportunity to condemn conservatives rather than aiming their fire on the real culprit, was exposed today in white light. Earlier today, Obama admitted that the sanctions relief will indeed have the potential to help Iran fund terror.

What does Mitt Romney have to say now? Nothing. With this preemptive attack, Romney demonstrates not only that his attacks are biased against Cruz and other conservatives willing to call a lie a “lie,” but he proves that he doesn’t have the ability to call out Obama on anything – even Obama admits it himself.

And this is in essence why he lost.  He never had the guts to speak the truth and throw a punch even when the opportunity presented itself.  It is now clear that the GOP electorate has learned from the mistake of Romney and is clamoring for a nominee willing to speak the truth without political double-talk.  They want someone who is more offended by the harmful acts of the Left rather than the rhetoric used to call out the Left.

For all of Obama’s faults, history might judge him for accomplishing for conservatives what no conservative has been able to do.  His blatant and brazen disregard for our foundational values and national security has finally turned voters against political correctness.  The era of political correctness is over.  As GOP voters look ahead to the debate tomorrow night, they already know what they are NOT looking for in a candidate – the tepidness and political correctness of Mitt Romney.
