Reminder: Buffalo Wild Wings doesn't respect your gun rights

Arby’s is buying the anti-gun and sometimes controversial sports bar chain Buffalo Wild Wings for a cool $2.9 billion.

Arby’s and Buffalo Wild Wings reported Tuesday morning that a definitive merger agreement had been reached.

“Buffalo Wild Wings is one of the most distinctive and successful entertainment and casual dining restaurant companies in America,” said Paul Brown, CEO of Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. “We are excited to welcome a brand with such a rich heritage, led by an exceptionally talented team. We look forward to leveraging the combined strengths of both organizations into a truly differentiated and transformative multi-brand restaurant company.”

Some gun owners have a problem with Buffalo Wild Wings, which doesn’t respect gun rights in its restaurants. In 2009, the company announced a blanket no-gun policy at all of its locations. Whenever asked about the policy, the company issues the following statement:

“Buffalo Wild Wings respects the right of individuals to carry firearms. However, because we are focused on the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all of our guests, we have elected to exercise our right to restrict the carrying of firearms within our restaurants. We regret any inconvenience this may cause but believe that this policy is in the best interest of all our guests and our Team Members.”

In 2013, Buffalo Wild Wings was wrapped in controversy after a waitress refused to serve eight plain-clothed Virginia police officers because their firearms were visible. The apologetic manager at that restaurant insisted the incident was a “misunderstanding,” as a spokeswoman told FoxNews.com at the time, “It is the company’s practice to allow credentialed officers to carry guns.”

Ordinary citizens, though? Not so much.

Arby’s restaurants do not seem to have a universal firearm policy. In 2015, a Utah man ordering food at an Arby’s restaurant thwarted a robbery attempt by a knife-wielding woman with his firearm.

Will Arby’s policy change with the merger with anti-gun Buffalo Wild Wings?

Conservative Review has reached out to Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. for comment on its firearm policy.
