I have been a fan of Tom Brokaw for many years. I knew he leaned to the left, but he made an effort to not let it show.
But Tom is slipping. He was on the "Meet the Press" panel last Sunday and in the discussion of the recent shootings in Orlando and Dallas, Brokaw was clearly moved.
Who are these people? What motivates them? We're not looking at a big mosaic of an organization of some kind.
But the hostility out there is really unsettling to me and it's based on pigmentation. People are making judgments on the color of his skin, bang, like that. And that's wrong.
I couldn’t believe it. Tom Brokaw, who earned a reputation as one of the hardest working reporters in America, has gotten lazy.

Brokaw has had a storied career. From the "freedom riders" of the 1960s through Vietnam, Desert Storm, September 11, Afghanistan and Iraq, Tom Brokaw has been one of the most trusted newsmen in America.
He has reported from wars and natural disasters and has interviewed virtually every decision-maker in the world during the last 50 years. And he reports that the recent tragedies in Orlando and Dallas were based on race?
I was actually a bit embarrassed for Brokaw. I know he was speaking the truth as he saw it, but how could he be so wrong?
In his book, “Bias,” Bernie Goldberg pointed out that the media people he spent a lifetime working with and knew as friends saw themselves in the middle of the political spectrum because everyone they know agrees with them.
Racism has been such a large part of their lives for so long that they cannot fathom a world without it.
We are at war with radical Islam, not because of the color of their skin, but because they are at war with us.
I know. I know. We are not at war with Islam. Islam is a religion of peace. But the leader of the Islamic State doesn’t agree.
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is a student of Islam and claims to be the 12th Imam.
Al-Baghdadi said, “"Islam was never a religion of peace. Islam is the religion of fighting. No one should believe that the war that we are waging is the war of the Islamic State. It is the war of all Muslims, but the Islamic State is spearheading it. It is the war of Muslims against infidels."
There comes a time in the history of great nations when they no longer have the luxury to ignore an enemy that is killing them.
When two radical Islamists kill 14 Americans at a Christmas party in San Bernardino, including Blacks, for no reason other than that they are Americans, perhaps we should take note that this may be about more than race.
When a man kills 50 people in a nightclub and dedicates his achievement to al-Baghdadi and the Islamic State we probably ought to take him at his word. It may be more convenient to place this in the racism box, but it ignores reality and common sense.
The carnage in Dallas is racist only because a black man killed white cops. Black Lives Matter took credit for this radicalization and President Obama brought their leaders into the White House for three hours to listen to their concerns.
To fall for this you have to ignore the facts on the ground. Black Lives Matter has created uprisings in Ferguson, Baltimore, St. Paul, Dallas and Baton Rouge. On Monday night they set a police cruiser on fire in Orlando.
Black Lives Matter serves, as did ACORN, as a political weapon to further the Democrat Party’s fortunes by causing violence and frightening Americans into giving up freedom for security.
Black Lives Matter is only the most recent iteration of the Cloward-Piven Strategy of intimidating, dividing and destroying a free republic.
The killers in Fort Hood, the Boston Marathon, Chattanooga and Little Rock military recruiting offices, San Bernardino, Orlando, and now Baton Rouge have, each of them, ties to Islam.
This “organized mosaic” of terror exists whether Tom Brokaw recognizes it or not.
Radical Islam is an identifiable and well-funded war machine attacking freedom from Sweden through Europe and the Middle East to Yemen.
Radical Leftism is an identifiable and well-funded anti-American terror machine attacking freedom from next door.
If we can see this for what it is, why can’t the experts?
