Kim Kardashian plans to become a lawyer

Kim Kardashian West revealed in a profile for Vogue that she has high hopes of becoming an attorney.

According to reports, West has been apprenticing at a San Francisco law firm since last summer and has been working with CNN commentator Van Jones and attorney Jessica Jackson of #cut50, a criminal justice reform advocacy group.

The reality TV star told Vogue that she was inspired by the release of Alice Marie Johnson who was granted clemency last year by President Trump.

Johnson was serving 21 year life sentence for a non-violent drug charge.

West caused a brief media meltdown last year when she opted in for a photo with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office while meeting with him to advocate for Johnson's release.

West told Vogue she "wanted to be able to fight for people who have paid their dues to society" and is expected to take the California bar exam in 2022.

She said it was something she thought long and hard about.

Her momager, Kris Jenner, was surprised by her daughter's decision.

"I did not see this one coming. What didn't surprise me was the way she embraced Miss Alice and how she was so hopeful for that outcome," Jenner said.

West won't need to attend law school because in California all you need to do is pass the bar and apprentice with a judge or attorney.
