No Snakes on This Plane

A TSA agent at Miami International Airport bit off more than he could chew Thursday. During the screening of a passenger the TSA officials discovered seven exotic snakes and three tortoises concealed inside the man's pants. CBS Miami reports that the passenger has been arrested and charged with violating the Lacey Act for importing exotic animals, now facing up to five years in jail.

“While snakes and tortoises may not pose a threat to aviation, non-metallic weapons and explosive concealed beneath clothing remain a concern for security personnel and this discovery demonstrates again the effectiveness of advanced imaging technology,” TSA spokesman Jon Allen wrote in a statement.

Meanwhile, police in Colombia found a 7-foot boa constrictor on a bus with its mouth taped shut Monday. With no one claimed ownership, so Colombian police had to put the deadly snake back in the cardboard box they found it. ITN News:
