The Texas Tea Party Patriots say they're going to make Newt Gingrich's dream come true and host a Lincoln-Douglas style debate. It's scheduled for Nov. 5 with Herman Cain and Gingrich signed on to participate, according to the "National Review."
Bill O'Sullivan, treasurer for the group, said the debate is meant to be "more serious" than the "superficial" and "frustrating" debates of late.
There's no doubt the current TV debate format is geared to be half educational, half entertainment. But it brings the viewers in. Who's going to watch this one? Not a single network has agreed to carry the debate.
