Stop telling me a generic Republican can beat Obama!

Stop it. Please, just stop it, media.

I keep the news on in the background as I write during the day. I looked over my right shoulder about an hour ago and saw polster Scott Rasmussen talking about how current polls show a "generic Republican" could be Barack Obama in the next election.

Shut up. Yes, I said shut up.

Here's why: generic Republicans don't have baggage.

Generic Republicans aren't big government conservatives -- voters assume a generic Republican truly embraces all facets conservatism.

Generic Republicans don't pay women behind their wives' backs.

Generic Republicans don't flip-flop.

Generic Republicans don't flub debates and can at least remember their talking points.

Generic Republicans don't have gaffes about John Wayne.

Generic Republicans don't have more marriages than white hair.

A Generic Republican is the perfect conservative candidate. I have a feeling conservatives would take a generic republican over the current field any day.

If a generic Republican can defeat Obama, the country is in for four more years of this president.
