What does Sen. Joe Lieberman want this year for Hanukkah? A copy of Glenn Beck's new book.
The Connecticut independent told The Hill he has his eye on Beck's new best-seller, "Being George Washington: The Indispensable Man, As You’ve Never Seen Him."
[W]hen pressed to divulge some material goods he plans to put on his holiday wish list, he paused before saying with a smile, “Well, actually, this is not a political statement. I’m fascinated in Glenn Beck’s new book about George Washington. I noticed it was on the best-seller list.”
Beck said he's thrilled with the senator's choice, telling The Hill, "I’ve always thought that Sen. Lieberman was brilliant, but his choice in holiday gifts confirms it."
"I just wish more of our politicians would follow his lead and be willing to look toward our Founders for guidance on how to address the issues we face today,” he said.
Lieberman, who said earlier this year he will not be seeking re-election in 2012, has been openly supportive of Beck's defense of Israel.
For his part, Beck said he's hoping he might get Lieberman's book, "The Gift of Rest: Rediscovering the Beauty of the Sabbath," for Christmas.
And it looks like Lieberman will get his wish: Beck announced on his radio program Thursday that a copy of "Being George Washington" is en route to the senator.
