In a somewhat random appearance in a New Hampshire restaurant on Saturday, the famous drag queen RuPaul announced that he's not running for president. "I am notRon Paul. I am RuPaul and I am not running for president," RuPaul declared when he showed up on the spot.
On Friday I posted about the drag queen's upcoming trip to New Hampshire. He said he was "on a mission to spread love" and to "set the record straight" that he is not to be confused for Ron Paul, the Republican presidential candidate.
RuPaul gave a brief speech and took some photos with fans before bowing out. "You betta vote!" he said on his exit. "Remember, this country was founded by a bunch of men wearing wigs!"
Afterward he answered some political questions for Yahoo! News:
How do you feel about the printing of fiat money?"Fiat? I do love that new J-LO car! I do love that."
Where do you stand on the merits of lowering the marginal tax rate to boost growth?
"I usually stand on six-inch platforms. It's actually not as tall as it looks."
Who is more fabulous? The economist John Maynard Keynes or Frederich Hayek?
"You better work!"
