Without actually saying he's leaving the GOP, Jon Huntsman said a third party is needed in the current political system. "Gone are the days when the Republican party used to put forward big, bold visionary stuff," he said this morning on MSNBC.
While criticizing the GOP for not being visionary, Huntsman then voiced the least novel idea in contemporary politics: a third political party.
"I think we're going to have problems politically until we get some sort of third party movement or some alternative voice out there that can put forward new ideas," he said.
Huntsman abandoned his own presidential aspirations in January.
