Meet the 13-Year-Old Who Tried 'Everything She Could' to Save 6-Year-Old Colo. Shooting Victim

"Please try, because we have to get out of here."

There are many things that shouldn't happen in this world. And one of them is that a 13-year-old girl shouldn't be put in a situation where she has to try to tirelessly save the life of a 6-year-old after a senseless theater shooting. But that's exactly what happened to a young girl named Kaylan.

Kaylan, whose last name is being withheld, went to "The Dark Knight Rises" on Friday with five people. One of them included 6-year-old Veronica Moser-Sullivan, who ended up becoming the youngest victim of the now-infamous "Dark Knight" shooting in Aurora, Colorado.

After the shots rang out, Kaylan noticed that young Veronica was hit. She sprang into action and tried to deliver CPR. But there was a problem: another adult victim had fallen on Veronica, making it impossible.

Kaylan asked the adult to try and move, but said the person was "numb" and couldn't. She begged: "Please try, please, because we have to get out of here." Nothing. She tried and tried until police arrived.

You can watch Kaylan tell her story to CBS below:
