The Boston Globe reports that despite a strong voter registration push by President Obama's reelection campaign, Democrats are picking up far fewer voters than Republicans. In swing states Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, Colorado and Nevada, registered Democratic voters have increased by less than 40,000.
For Republicans in those states, registration has increased by 145,000, more than double the number from 2008. Registered Independents, however, are showing the strongest gains with an increase of almost 230,000 voters.
