Here's how Romney, Obama teams dismiss bad numbers

After the disappointing unemployment numbers were released on Friday, the Obama administration put out a statement that said "it is important not to read too much into any one monthly report..."

Today, following a few days of polls that show President Obama still leading Mitt Romney in battleground states, Romney's pollster Neil Newhouse told reporters in a memo not to "get too worked up about the latest polling."

The takeaway: When either side recommends not to "read too much into" or "get too worked up about" a new set of numbers, it means that side is is plenty worked up about them. And maybe you should be, too.
