George Zimmerman's murder trial in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin has been set for June 10.
Circuit Judge Debra Nelson set the date during a court hearing Wednesday morning, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Lawyers in the case estimated the trial will take about three weeks.
Zimmerman, a former neighborhood watch volunteer, is charged with second-degree murder in the unarmed teen's Feb. 26 death in Sanford, Fla.
Zimmerman attorney Mark O'Mara said he couldn't say whether he would be fully prepared in time, according to the Sentinel.
“I don’t know today when we’ll be ready for trial,” O'Mara said.
After the six-minute court session, Zimmerman's legal defense team tweeted they would likely seek a hearing under the so-called "stand your ground" law a month or two prior to the trial date.
"#zimmerman self-defense immunity hearing likely to be requested for April or May," the tweet said.
