Look at This Picture -- Then Be Amazed That Two People Survived What Happened

I'm not sure how often you see a picture and think, ​There's no way someone survived that​, but whether it happens often or it's been a while, these pictures will likely elicit that response.

On Sunday, a Canby, Oregon, couple was sitting in their car when a large tree toppled and landed square on top. But that description doesn't do justice to the pictures that show the aftermath:

But if you thought the pictures were amazing, consider this: the couple in the car crawled out and walked away with minor injuries (the husband had a broken shoulder).

"When they came out...everybody was standing up and everybody looked good," Bernie VanHouten, a parent of one of the victims, told KGW-TV.

"They must of have a bright light shining down on them because if you look at the passenger compartment, especially the driver’s compartment, there’s about a space of about two loaves of bread in there," Canby Fire District Chief Troy Buzalsky added.

According to KPTV-TV, "investigators believe it was a combination of wet and loose soil, root failure, and normal area winds that caused the tree to fall."
