Joe Biden to meet with the NRA

As head of the White House's gun control efforts, Vice President Joe Biden is fielding opinions on possible legislation to curb gun ownership in America. As part of this new campaign, Biden has agreed to meet with representatives of the National Rifle Association (NRA) on Thursday:

White House press secretary Jay Carney said the meeting is one of a many scheduled this week as the task force lead by Biden gathers input before recommending actions to reduce gun violence.

The NRA had complained that it was not being included in the process.

Biden is also scheduled to meet this week with representatives of the entertainment and gaming industries, which some blame for violent content, and with gun-control advocates.

"The vice president has had several meetings and conversations so far, and he will have many more," Carney said during a press briefing Tuesday.
