Police: 'Call Unfounded' That a Man Carrying a Rifle and Wearing Body Armor Spotted on MIT Campus

​Police say a call about a man carrying a rifle and wearing body armor on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus was "unfounded" and that there is no threat to public safety.

MIT, just outside Boston, was placed on lockdown Saturday morning after the report went out. The Cambridge Police Department said it searched the building in question with "negative results."
