Michigan voters side with Romney, believe trees to be 'right height': poll

A new survey by Democratic polling firm Public Policy Polling shows most voters in Michigan, where Mitt Romney was born, also believe the state's trees are "just the right height."

While campaigning in 2012 Romney repeatedly... referenced the "right height" trees found in Michigan. He never fully explained his love for the state's trees but the Washington Post took a thoughtful guess in February last year:

The region’s red maples (40 feet at maturity) and butternuts (50 feet) — in contrast to the west coast’s ultra-imposing redwoods or the South’s live oaks or the iconic Southern magnolia — are somehow gentler and feel a bit more accessible. And the fall colors, well, goes without saying.

Romney lost Michigan to President Obama in the election.
