The 'Rent Is Too Damn High' Guy Is Back, and This Time He Has a Rap Video
April 24, 2013
"I’m on a mission again to give you people my word, the rent around here is too damn absurd."
Remember Jimmy "Rent is Too Damn High” McMillan?
Well, he’s back and he’s running for mayor of New York City! He even has a rap video to go along with his campaign:
“McMillan, you may recall, made a splash at a New York governor’s debate in 2010 by pushing his signature issue — namely, the rent being too damn high,” Aaron Blake writes for the Washington Post.
“And ironically — or perhaps appropriately — he faced eviction from his apartment in 2011 because, he alleged, the owners wanted someone who wasn’t subject to rent control protections (McMillan had lived there for more than 40 years). In other words, the rent was too damn low,” Blake adds.
