Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said this week that he cannot support the immigration bill currently being discussed in the U.S. Senate unless it provides guarantees for border security.
“I want to be for immigration reform, but I can’t be for it unless we have stronger border security,” he said Tuesday.
“It had got to have more border security to get my vote. I told them what it would take. I have an amendment, Trust but Verify, that says we write into the bill what border security is. We don’t wait for the administration,” he added.
Later, on Wednesday, Senator Paul repeated his immigration ultimatum during an interview with Glenn Beck:
