Eliot Spitzer Gives Uncomfortable, Tearful Interview on His Past Life with Prostitutes

Video

"I have spent five years reflecting, thinking, apologizing. I am ready to ask for forgiveness."

Former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer appeared Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” to discuss his campaign for NYC comptroller as well as the scandal that supposedly ended his political career.

And by “scandal” we mean the one where he got caught with prostitutes.

The “Morning Joe” interview took an uncomfortable turn as the former Governor attempted a tearful apology for his lecherous past.

“You go through that pain, you change,” Spitzer said. “I have spent five years reflecting, thinking, apologizing. I am ready to ask for forgiveness.”

“It’s not easy, but I’m ready to ask,” he added.

Spitzer was then asked whether his prostitution scandal bars him from holding public office.

“I will let the public make that determination,” he responded.

You can see the uncomfortable ordeal unfold here:

And in case you’re starved for more prostitute-themed Spitzer interview questions, here’s a video of him fielding a question regarding the legalization of prostitution:
