Professional Mover Shocked After What He Was Given as a Tip: 'Any Tip Is a Good Tip

One coin. For many this might seem like a pretty measly tip. That is, unless you take into consideration just how much that one coin might be worth.

A professional mover received such a tip, but it's claimed to be from the ancient Roman Empire, purported to be used by the famous Roman Marc Antony.

Posting a picture of the coin and a description of the situation on Reddit, the mover working in Massachusetts going by the username bobbyfbrown wrote that he had helped pack the archives of a former professor. The son of this professor gave the movers the coins "as a way of saying thanks for being careful with his father's collection."

"He told us they were only worth like $50-$100," bobbyfbrown continued.

In the small baggy holding the coin is a description that reads:

Silver Denarius of Marc Antony -- 31 B.C.

Used by Marc Antony to pay his eighth legion.

Struck to pay the Legions used in the Battle of Actium.

The Battle of Actium in 31 B.C. was one where Antony battled and lost to Octavian, who was known as emperor Augustus after 27 B.C., earning Octavian the the title of "undisputed master of the Roman world," according to the encyclopedia Britannica.

"Being a history buff myself," bobbyfbrown said he appreciated it more than a traditional tip. Plus, he also included that "Any tip is a good tip."

What appears to be a similar coin on eBay is going for around $300.

The mover said he plans on keeping the coin because its "historical value far outweighs any monetary value" to him.
