Report: Michael Moore Files For Divorce From Wife of 21 Years

Michael Moore, the liberal filmmaker who is known for controversially tackling contentious social and political issues, is reportedly getting a divorce from his wife of 21 years. MLive.com is reporting that, on June 17, Moore filed an official complaint that would end his marriage with Kathleen Glynn.

The document, which was filed in the Antrim County Circuit Court in Michigan, purportedly claims that the two parties are no longer living together and that there is likely no chance that the marriage can be salvaged.

The couple do not have children, but considering Moore's successful films and fortune, there is certainly quite a bit of money on the line. Moore and Glynn own a home, which is said to be worth $1.2 million and the documentarian is estimated to be worth $50 million.

The filmmaker has made nine movies and has penned nine books, providing him with immense fame and fortune -- and a sustained popularity among American progressives. Glynn, who has worked closely with Moore throughout his career, has produced several of his projects.

Moore's wife, as MLive.com reports, does not yet have an attorney and has not responded to the complaint. The filmmaker, however, does have legal representation.

Moore hasn't confirmed or discussed the divorce news. Over the past 24 hours, though, he has taken to his Twitter account to comment about Detroit's bankruptcy, among other unrelated subjects.
