(UPDATED) Report: Two Postal Inspectors Sickened by Nerve Gas After Opening Package at JFK Airport

Two postal inspectors at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport were sickened by a mysterious chemical after opening a package, local ABC affiliate WABC-TV reported Sunday.

The two postal workers have now recovered and did not appear to have suffered exposure to any chemical weapon, according to the New York Daily News.

Initial reports suggested the chemical was nerve gas, but authorities say they believe there is a low likelihood the rare gas was the cause of the inspectors' sickness.

Nonetheless, the FBI has been called to the scene and additional testing is underway.
