Seriously Creepy Clown Terrorizes Town Without Doing Much of Anything (Don't Click If Clowns Scare You)

Without saying a word or really doing anything, an anonymous man has managed to terrorize an English town by just standing around in a creepy clown costume.

There were sightings of the clown earlier this month, according to the Northampton Herald & Post. Now, the sinister-looking clown has reportedly been spotted all over Northampton, U.K., sometimes carrying a clown teddy or balloons -- just because.

Terrifying, we know.

There is an effort underway to identify the man behind the costume -- and probably to ask him to stop giving people nightmares.

He may not have a name yet, but he apparently has a Facebook page.

"Too much hate not enough love," the clown wrote on Facebook. "No, I don't have a knife on me!, thats just stupid rumors spread by stupid people. I'm also 'not' on Twitter as it confuses the heck out of me."

"Sightings of the clown have prompted the Twitter hashtag #northamptonclown, which is being used to speculate on the reasons for the clown's appearance," the Huffington Post notes.
