Man Falsely ID'd as Navy Yard Shooter Speaks Out: CBS & NBC Haven't Even Apologized to Me

"My privacy was violated."

During the confusion and chaos of Monday's shooting spree at the Washington navy Yard, CBS News and NBC News falsely identified a man named Rollie Chance as the shooter.

Of course, we know now that 36-year-old Aaron Alexis was the real shooter. After figuring out their mistake, the two networks  retracted their false claims.

But they have yet to apologize to Chance for falsely identifying him as a mass murderer.

“My privacy was violated,” he told Greta Van Susteren Thursday, adding “no one has called and apologized to me yet.”

Editor's note: This story has been updated to reflect that it was CBS not ABC that wrongly identified the Navy Yard shooter.
