Consumer Reports Advises People to 'Stay Away' From Healthcare.gov Until Issues Resolved

The Obamacare online exchanges since their unveiling have been a glitchy and embarrassing mess for the Obama administration.

And until White House officials can come up with a way to correct the system’s many issues, Consumer Reports magazine has warned people to “stay away from Heatlthcare.gov.”

“Stay away from Healthcare.gov for at least another month” until things clear up, the site warns. “Hopefully that will be long enough for its software vendors to clean up the mess they’ve made.”

The post advises consumers on possible ways to navigate the error-riddled website, including checking their inboxes frequently, clearing their cookies and moving "on immediately from failed logins.”

But even after giving this advice, the post’s message is pretty clear: Don’t even bother enrolling in Obamacare right now; there are far too many issues with the Healthcare.gov site.

Naturally, some were quick to point out the Consumer Report’s advice, which may further the White House’s embarrassment.

House Speaker John Boehner’s press secretary tweeted the following:

The website has proven almost impossible for Americans to navigate, resulting in growing frustration and a major headache for the Obama administration.

In an attempt to calm nerves, the Department of Health and Human Services promised over the weekend that it would bring in experts to resolves the issues.

"Our team is bringing in some of the best and brightest from both inside and outside government to scrub in with the team and help improve HealthCare.gov,” HHS said in a statement on its website.
