One of the Most Embarrassing Things That Could Ever Happen to a Member of the Media Happened on Live TV

"I literally cannot believe that just happened."

If you were a member of the media, what would be your biggest on-air fear? A wardrobe malfunction? A crippling attack of nerves?

What about forgetting to take off your microphone and going to the bathroom, only to have the audio broadcast live on national television?

That's exactly what happened to Jeff Fisher, executive producer for TheBlaze Radio Network, on TheBlaze TV Monday.

"It was on 'Pat & Stu,' and we were just about to begin interviewing Andrew Wilkow," Pat Gray related on Beck's radio program Tuesday, "and ... you hear the nice, you know - sounds - and then the toilet flush?"

Stu Burguiere added that he thought someone was playing a joke on them with sound effects, before he saw that Fisher was missing and the truth sank in.

When he realized what had occurred, Burguiere said through his laughter: "I literally cannot believe that just happened."

Beck found the event so hilarious he actually replayed the audio twice on his radio program Tuesday -- one of the most listened-to radio shows in America, which reaches millions.

Beck and his co-hosts were laughing so hard throughout the segment they could barely speak, and proceeded to ask Fisher, better known as "Jeffy," what happened immediately after the on-air mistake.

"So when I came out of the bathroom, Keith, who answers our phone and stuff, is outside of this room and I hear him laughing loudly..." Fisher said. "So I wondered what was going on ... and then I realized what was going on."

"Another proud moment in the annals of Jeff Fisher history," Beck joked.

"Because for most broadcasters, they would think of this as a horror story that they would tell for the rest of their life," Burguiere added, ribbing their longtime friend. "This is probably the best thing you've ever done for the show."
