Dramatic Video Shows Officer Pull Unconscious Driver From Burning Truck

"A million things were racing through my mind."

Dash camera footage released this week shows the dramatic moments a New Jersey police officer pulled an unconscious man from a flaming truck.

Scott Krissinger, a seven-year veteran of the Cape May Police Department, saw 61-year-old Gerald Ferrill's truck engulfed in flames Monday, telling ABC News he didn't hesitate to act.

"A million things were racing through my mind," he said. "I couldn't understand why someone would stay in the truck if there was no car accident or anything like that."

"When I opened the door, I couldn't really see," Krissinger continued. "And I was able to grab the collar of his shirt."

The officer then rushed back to the video to ensure no one else was in danger.

"I couldn't see anything, so I just decided I'm just going to feel with my hand across the seat," he told ABC News.

No one else was in the truck.

"I don't think about myself as a hero," Krissinger said.
